Salutations! Meet Haia, your friendly neighborhood multi-hyphenate theatre artist and educator.
Currently a PhD candidate in the department of Theatre & Dance at UC San Diego with a BA in Theater Arts and Creativity, the Arts, and Social Transformation from Brandeis University. She has been involved in theatre on and off stage for many years, working with Black Box Studios, the Cherubs program at Northwestern, Chicago Youth Shakespeare, and more. As a dramaturg and researcher, Haia specializes in the ancient Mediterranean world, Jewish history/practice, and the Early Modern - though anything that elevates voices less frequently heard will get her starting on a thorough dramaturgy packet. Recent playwrighting endeavors have included comedic pieces for the REGENERATE! new play festival and a cycle of translation/adaptations of ancient Jewish texts. Don't be fooled by the bareheaded photos, though: Haia is a frequent treader of the boards as well as a director, effects artist, fight choreographer, and intimacy coordinator. She happily wears a range of hats, and will find the best fit for your project! |
